I’ve noticed quite a few chain emails going about recently whereby people share their favourite inspirational Bible quotations. Part of me really wants to be brave enough to share this one 😉
“Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.”
-Pope Paul VI
“A word or a smile is often enough to put fresh life in a despondent soul.”
-St. Therese of Lisieux
I keep coming across brilliant quotations that simply must be shared with everyone. So with this in mind, from now on, I’m setting aside my Wednesday post to do just that. This week, it’s Grandpa Sheen…
“Hearing a nun’s confession is like being stoned to death with popcorn.”
– Archbishop Fulton Sheen
“Heaven awaits us – let this be the only stirring hope in your heart. Do not plant your feet too deeply in the soil of this world for our eternal destiny calls us home.”
Thanks Pam 🙂
My mum sent me this lovely quotation the other day from the late Cardinal Basil Hume:
Once, while preaching in a parish, I suddenly caught sight of a young mother with her child, and you could see the love between them. I was terribly tempted to say to the Congregation: ‘Forget what I am saying and look over there, and you will see what we mean to God’” – Cardinal Basil Hume.
