Bishop Barron on the Rubin Report
Bishop Barron was recently interviewed by Dave Rubin on the Rubin Report. Dave is described as “a 39-year-old pro-choice, pro-pot, recently gay-married atheist with a strong allergy to organized religion”. Wise Words on Wednesday: True Pleasure
“Foolish is he who follows the pleasures of this world, because these are always fleeting and bring much pain. The only true pleasure is that which comes to us through faith”
– Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
Wise Words on Wednesday: Reaching the edge
When we walk to the edge of all the light that we have and take step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly
– Patrick Overton
Wise Words on Wednesday: Faith and charity
Faith and charity are the beginning and end of life. The beginning is faith; the end is charity. Both, joined in unity, lead to God, and all the rest that attains perfection and holiness follows from them
– St. Ignatius of Antioch
Wise Words on Wednesday: Faith and Obedience
How can a man say he believes in Christ if he does not do what Christ commanded him to do?
– St. Cyprian of Carthage
Wise Words On Wednesday: He Leadeth Me
“There remains deep down in each of us a little nagging doubt, a little knot of fear which we refuse to face or admit even to ourselves, that says, ‘suppose it isn’t so.’ We are afraid to abandon ourselves totally into God’s hand for fear he will not catch us as we fall. It is the ultimate criterion, the final test of all faith and all belief, and it is present in each of us, lurking unvoiced in a closet of our mind we are afraid to open. It is not really a question of trust in God at all, for we want very much to trust him; it is really a question of our ultimate belief in his existence and his providence, and it demands the purest act of faith.”
– Fr. Walter Ciszek, He Leadeth Me
