Music Monday: Masterpiece

I came across a new song from Danny Gokey, Masterpiece:

Heartbreaks a bittersweet sound
Know it well It’s ringing in my ears
And I can’t understand
Why I’m not fixed by now
Begged and I pleaded
Take this pain but I’m still bleeding

Heart trusts you for certain
Head says it’s not working
I’m stuck here still hurting
But you tell me

You’re making a masterpiece
You shaping the soul in me
You’re moving where I can’t see
And all I am is in your hands
You’re taking me all apart
Like it was your plan from the start
To finish your work of art for all to see you’re making a masterpiece

Guess I’m your canvas
Beautiful black and blue
Painted in mercy’s hue
I don’t see past this
You see me now
Who I’ll be then
There at the end
Standing there as

Heart trust you for certain
Head says it’s not working

I will be your masterpiece

Music Monday: Revelation Song

I’ve shared today’s music, “Revelation Song”, before, but I recently came across it sung by one of my favourite singers, Sarah Kroger:

VERSE 1
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is He
Sing a new song to Him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat

CHORUS
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You

VERSE 2
Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lighting rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor strength and glory and power be
To You the only wise King

VERSE 3
Filled with wonder awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus Your name is power, breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery

Music Monday: Hills & Valleys

I found out that Danny Gokey, who I’ve featured a few times on Music Monday, is going on tour. Whenever I find artists I like are going on tour, I always make a point of finding out what supporting acts they are taking with them because chances are that I’m going to like the supporting acts too. Well, Tauren Wells is going to be supporting Danny on the tour:

I’ve walked among the shadows
You wiped my tears away
And I’ve felt the pain of heartbreak
And I’ve seen the brighter days
And I’ve prayed prayers to heaven from my lowestplace
And I have held the blessings
God, you give and take away

No matter what I have, Your grace is enough
No matter where I am, I’m standing in Your love

[Chorus]
On the mountains, I will bow my life
To the one who set me there
In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there
When I’m standing on the mountain aft, didn’t get there on my own
When I’m walking through the valley end, no I am not alone!
You’re God of the hills and valleys!
Hills and Valleys!
God of the hills and valleys
And I am not alone!

I’ve watched my dreams get broken
In you I hope again!
No matter what I know
Know I’m safe inside Your hand

Father, you give and take away
Every joy and every pain
Through it all you will remain
Over it all!

Music Monday: The Stand

Today Hunter Thompson sings “The Stand”…

[Verse]
You stood before creation
Eternity within Your hands
You spoke all life into motion
My soul now to stand
You stood before my failure
And carried the cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand

[Chorus]
So what can I say And what could I do
But offer this heart O God Completely to You

[Verse 2]
So I’ll walk upon salvation Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand

[Chorus]
So what can I say
And what could I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You
So what can I say
And what could I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

[Bridge]
So I’ll stand With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all
I’ll stand My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

Music Monday: We Dance

For today’s musical selection, I decided to choose the song mentioned by Matt on our recent podcast. The song is “We Dance” by Steffany Frizzell-Gretzinger:

[Verse 1]
You steady me
Slow and sweet, we sway
Take the lead and I will follow
Finally ready now
To close my eyes and just believe
That You won’t lead me where You don’t go

[Chorus]
When my faith gets tired
And my hope seems lost
You spin me round and round
And remind me of that song
The one You wrote for me
And we dance
And we dance

[Verse 3]
And I’ve been told
To pick up my sword and fight for love
Little did I know that Love had won for me
Here in Your arms
You still my heart again
And I breathe You in like I’ve never breathed ’till now

[Verse 4]
And I will lock eyes
With the One who’s ransomed me
The One who gave me joy for mourning
And I will lock eyes
With the One who’s chosen me
The One who set my feet to dancing

[Closing]
It’s nice to know I’m not alone
I’ve found my home here in Your arms x4
