Wise Words on Wednesday: What a vote means

A vote is not professing your love for a candidate. It’s a chess move for the America you want to live in.

I just finished Timothy Keller’s book, The Reason for God. One of the best parts of the book was where Keller explained grace and why Christianity is different. I just came across this short video where Keller gives a similar presentation:
On the Pints With Jack Slack channel we’ve recently been talking about the worst church songs. The Catholic Talk Show offer their suggestions…

Every day I need you, Lord, but today especially,
I need some extra strength to face whatever is to come.
This day, more than any other day, I need to feel you near me to strengthen my Courage and to overcome any fear.
By myself I cannot meet the challenge of the hour.
We are frail human creatures and we need a Higher Power to sustain us in all that life may bring.
And so, dear Lord, hold my trembling hand.
Be with me, Lord, this day and stretch out your powerful arm to help me.
May your love be upon me as I place all my hope in you. Amen.
Pope John XXIII, Prayer for Strength
God, Your mercy reaches inside
Past the shadows, let there be light
So what was blind can see again
Open my eyes to what is hidden
For by the cross I stand as a testament
You made a better life than the one I left
And If I lose my way or if I forget
You left the empty grave as a monument
Well of God that never runs dry
Living water healing my life
Let idols fall from lifted hands
Let justice roll the songs of Heaven
Your love is a monument
Every blessing, every promise
A never ending fountain for my soul
Where I come from, where I’m going
Oh Monument of Heaven, lead the way back home

“Lost time is never found again.”
Benjamin Franklin
