Music Monday: Wood and Nails
While I’m waiting for Audrey Assad to release more music videos for her new album, Evergreen, here’s a video from a collaboration project, The Porter’s Gate Project. This is “Wood and Nails”:
O humble carpenter, down on your hands and knees,
look on your handiwork and build a house so you may dwell in me,
so you may dwell in me…
The work was done with nothing
but wood and nails in your scarborne hands,
O show me how to work and praise,
trusting that I am your instrument
The kingdom’s come and built
upon wood and nails gripped with joyfulness,
So send me out with in Your ways,
knowing that the task is finished
The dead will rise and give you praise,
wood and nails will not hold them down!
These wooden tombs, we’ll break them soon,
and fashion them into flower beds
The curse is done, the battle one,
swords bent down to plowshares,
Your scareborne hands, we’ll join with them,
serving at the table you’ve prepared
Hi there. My friend introduced Woods and Nails to me. And I love it! I listened to it around twice or thrice. It has meaningful and uplifting lyrics. It is also backed up with beautiful music, which adds more appeal to the song. I would recommend this song to my friends. By the way, I appreciate that you include the lyrics in this post. Do you have other songs from the album?
I have not – I’ve only listened to this song.
