  • Some I really like that were not mentioned:
    Lanky Guys
    Catholic Stuff You Should Know
    UMD Newman Catholic Campus Ministry
The Fr. Mike Schmitz Catholic Podcast
    The Tolkien Road
    Three Dogs North

    • Hey Ricky, welcome to Restless Pilgrim and thanks for the recommendations!

    • Lanky Guys is now on my list. I really enjoyed their episode on Jonah! I used to be a Catholic Stuff You Should Know fan, but I find the episodes too inconsistent and too much filled with banter. I’ll let you know about the others…

      • Lanky guys hs been one of my favorite and it helps me better prepare for the mass. I agree that Catholic Stuff has been more hit or miss, but when they are on it is still very good. I’ve listened to Bishop Barron for a while and really love his stuff. And there are a few more you mentioned that were my regulars as well. Matt Fradf stuff is greAt as well. I have started checking out the history of the early church and like that, and have Renovo and Hard Core History as some of my stuff to listen to soon

    • I’ve just looked at the episode list for “The Tolkien Road”….holy cow! I thought that Matt and I were undertaking a tough challenge going chapter-by-chapter through Lewis’ works!

      • I stumbled across this while looking for commentary on ‘Leaf by Niggle”. I also really enjoy both of your podcast, especially the one on Mere Christianity. My book club and I are tackling reading Benedict’s Jesus of Nazareth. It would be fun to find a podcast on that

Huh…that’s strange because I don’t have much Tolkien on this site…

Thanks! The “Restless Heart” podcast is on a bit of a sabbatical since my co-host moved to Orange County, so it’s a good thing you prefer the other one!

That’d be fun to do! Why are there only 24 hours in a day?!

          • Sorry, I misspoke. I stumbled across the Tolkien Road while looking for Leaf By Niggle commentary on iTunes and that is how I came across it, not while looking through your site.

  • Love the recommendations list … I thought I listened to a lot, but not that many. My two favorite daily news podcasts that I’m faithful to are Up First (NPR) and The Daily (NYTimes). I also love podcasts that teach me something like “How I Built this” and “This American Life” and “No Such Thing As a Fish” (getting my weekly british accent fix in). A friend introduced me to “Judge Jon Hodgman” for a regular fix of “why are people spending their time in fake internet court?” I’m going to add some of your recommendations to my upcoming rotation and see if any make it in there “on the regular!”
