Magic Mike & The opposite of love
This morning while I was having my much-needed coffee, I watched the following homily. It’s a tough, uncompromising comparison between the movie Magic Mike and the message of the Gospel concerning the dignity of the human person:
“The opposite of love is use” – Pope John Paul II
(Thanks to Fear Not Little Flock for this)
Deacon Harold has a lot of GREAT homilies on YouTube and even his own EWTN series.
I hadn’t heard him before. Feisty! 🙂
You had COFFEE!?!?!
Deacon Harold is very good. Thank you for sharing this. It’s a message we all need to hear. =)
I do drink something other than tea :-p
Thanks for the link back to me! 🙂 Deacon Harold was a grad student with my husband and he is also a good friend of my older sister- he is a great guy and salt for the earth in the Portland, Oregon area.
and the message is clear- we women need to be more like Mary the Mother of God!
Glory to Jesus Christ!
You’re welcome 🙂
I’ve been a reader of your blog for some time, especially since my local Byzantine Catholic Parish has become my “summer home” (I serve in a youth ministry at another passage during the school year)
I found this video (I know it’s old) and I love it. I saw this movie a while ago for a “girl’s night out” with an old friend, which was NOT okay…It was a terrible film. I didn’t understand the wrongness of it at the time…deacon hits the nail on the head! Lightbulb of truth!
🙂
