Wise Words on Wednesday: Not this day
Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! – Aragorn, Return of the King
No words for how much you read my mind by posting this!!! love it. Also need to watch these movies again.
We had a Lord of the Rings day on Saturday. All three movies, back-to-back, together with hobbit meals throughout the day. You have my permission to be impressed.
…and the extended versions to boot! Boom.
one more reason i’m pleased I get to call you a friend
“WHAT SAY YOU?”
I take my leave!
This has always reminded me of Shakespeare and Henry V’s St. Crispin’s Day speech at Agincourt. Similar rousing themes. 🙂
And I’ve done the back-to-back-to-back trilogy watching before, though minus Hobbit food. Although now that lembas bread photo you posted on FB makes much more sense.
One does not simply deny the authority of the magisterium.
“And so it begins.”
