Romantic Aspirations
“When a man loves a woman, he has to become worthy of her. The higher her virtue, the more her character, the more devoted she is to truth, justice, goodness, the more a man has to aspire to be worthy of her.” – Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Yes.
I very much agree, but then…if we all continue to grow in these holy virtues, like we are suppose to, when does the man become worthy of her?
I’ve heard a number of men say something along these lines and when the women learn that this is why they are not stepping up to pursue a woman, her reaction, in my words, is “Good grief!!”
There are many a men that we know who feel they are not worthy, which is why they will not pursue a woman, but many of us women already see many of the men to be “worthy”. As much as a woman needs to know and understand her worth, so too does a man need to know and understand his worth.
Sometimes, the pursuing makes him worthy of her.
Besides, like I already said, we are all suppose to continue to grow higher in virtue…so that being the case, the men may never “catch up”. 😉
Yeah, that’s a lame excuse. Fake it until you make it 😉
