{"id":913,"date":"2010-10-16T19:15:24","date_gmt":"2010-10-17T03:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thisrestlesspilgrim.wordpress.com\/?p=913"},"modified":"2014-04-22T00:15:42","modified_gmt":"2014-04-22T07:15:42","slug":"my-confirmation-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/2010\/10\/16\/my-confirmation-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"My Confirmation Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-918 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/prayer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"230\" \/>The Scripture which will be proclaimed at Mass in the upcoming weeks looks at the subject of prayer.<\/p>\n<p>The other day, whilst surfing the Internet, I came across the prayer which I used during my time of preparation prior to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. \u00a0To my surprise, I found that there was an &#8220;extra bit&#8221; that I had not heard before. \u00a0Here it is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>God grant me the serenity\u00a0to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
