{"id":86407,"date":"2023-01-25T15:47:58","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T21:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/?p=86407"},"modified":"2024-11-21T22:18:35","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T04:18:35","slug":"quranic-surprises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/2023\/01\/25\/quranic-surprises\/","title":{"rendered":"Qur&#8217;anic Surprises"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/11\/1\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 11:1<\/a> says that the Qur&#8217;an is a fully-explained book, but nobody seems to known what &#8220;Alif-L\u00e3m-Ra&#8221; means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/12\/20\">Surah 12:20<\/a> speaks about currency (&#8220;dirhams&#8221;) used in Egypt at the time of Joseph, which didn&#8217;t exist at the time. This is an anachronism, unless we allow the Qur&#8217;an to speak in terms that its hearers would understand. If we do this, the objection to the Bible referring to the Egyptian king as &#8220;Pharaoh&#8221; goes away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/3?startingVerse=35\">Surah 3:35<\/a> says the Virgin Mary is the daughter of Imran (who was the father of Moses!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/3\/7\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 3:7<\/a> says that parts of the Qur&#8217;an are unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/3\/93\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Surah 3:93<\/a> speaks of the Torah as though it is present and uncorrupted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/33\/50\">Surah 33:50<\/a> speaks of marrying first cousins<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/105\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 105<\/a> is utterly imcomprehensible without the Hadith<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/34?startingVerse=14\">Surah 1:54<\/a> says a man dies and nobody knows  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/2\/62\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 2:62<\/a> says Christians are okay, but <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/3\/85\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 3:85<\/a> suggests that they&#8217;re in trouble<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/2\/85\">Surah 2:85<\/a> says you can&#8217;t just believe part of the earlier Scriptures<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/3?startingVerse=3\">Surah 3:3<\/a> The Torah and Injeel are a guidance for mankind!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/9?startingVerse=29\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 9:29<\/a> says that persecution is allowed on the basis of belief<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/24\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 4:24<\/a> says slaves are allowed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/33\/56\">Surah 33:56<\/a> says Allah and the Angels pray? for Muhammad?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/48\">Surah 4:48<\/a> says that Shirk will not be forgiven but <a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/153\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Surah 4:153<\/a> shows that it can be forgiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/65\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 4:65<\/a> says you have to submit to all of Muhammad&#8217;s teachings (which are spread across multiple volumes of hadith)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/167\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 4:167<\/a> denies the crucifixion. What happened? Does this mean that Allah is responsible for Christianity&#8217;s existence <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/5\/47\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 5:47<\/a> tells Christians to judge by the Gospel, implying that Gospel is still inexistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/5\/3\">Surah 5:3<\/a> says that Islam was completed and perfected on this day, but this isn&#8217;t the last verse of the Qur&#8217;an revealed. Doesn&#8217;t that mean it&#8217;s incomplete and perfected later? Isn&#8217;t that a <a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/4\/82\">contradiction<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/7\/109\">Surah 7:109<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/26:34\">Surah 26:34<\/a> put the words &#8220;<em>Surely this man is a skillful magician&#8221; <\/em>into the mouths of two different people at the same event. This can certainly be harmonized, but were this found in the Gospels this would be called a contradiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/7\/143\">Surah 7:143<\/a>: Allah enters creation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/19?startingVerse=28\">Surah 19:28<\/a>: The Virgin Mary is sister of Aaron?! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/20?startingVerse=85\">Surah 20:85<\/a>: A Samaritan led the worship of the Golden Calf?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/22\/6\">Surah 22:6<\/a> Allah says he is &#8220;The Truth&#8221;&#8230;a title claimed by Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/24\/35\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 24:35<\/a> comes Allah to many things he has created (and I&#8217;ve heard it said often that you can&#8217;t do this)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/26\/196\">Surah 26:196<\/a>: Claims that the Qur&#8217;an has been foretold in the previous scriptures<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/40\/55\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 40:55<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/47\/19\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 47:19<\/a>,  and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/48\/2\" target=\"_blank\">Surah 48:2<\/a> all seem to say that Muhammad sinned, despite the common Islamic belief that he was sinless. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/47\/7\">Surah 47:7<\/a>: You can help Allah? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/55?startingVerse=56\">Surah 55:56<\/a> the rewards of Jenna<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/16\/44\">Surah 16:44<\/a> says that Muhammad will explain the revelation he&#8217;s been given and <a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/59\/7\">Surah 59:7<\/a> says Muhammad will explain what is allowed and forbidden (outside of the Qur&#8217;an?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/quran.com\/98\/6\">Surah 98:6<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/8?startingVerse=55\">Surah 8:55<\/a> Those who don&#8217;t believe in the Qur&#8217;an are the &#8220;worst of creatures&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/5\/45\">Surah 5:45<\/a> quotes &#8220;the Torah&#8221; but doesn&#8217;t match either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Exodus%2021%3A24&amp;version=RSVCE\">Exodus 21:24<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Leviticus%2024%3A20&amp;version=RSVCE\">Leviticus 24:20<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Deuteronomy%2019%3A21&amp;version=RSVCE\">Deuteronomy 19:21<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/21\/105\">Surah 21:105<\/a> says it&#8217;s quoting the Psalms but adds an extra word (&#8220;servants&#8221;) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=psalm+37%3A29&amp;version=RSVCE\">Psalm 37:29<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/28\/38\">Surah 28:38<\/a>: High towers are built out of baked clay?! And has it confused Haman from the story of Esther?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/61\/6\">Surah 61:6<\/a> says that Jesus gave &#8220;good news of a messenger after me whose name will be A\u1e25mad&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/66\/12?translations=84,17,85,95,19,22\">Surah 66:12<\/a> has translations which obscure the word &#8220;vagina&#8221;. Mary protected it and it was breathed into. It also claims that Mary was the daughter of Imran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/quran.com\/33\/36\">Surah 33:36<\/a>: Muhammad is a decision partner with Allah (shirk?!)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Surah 11:1 says that the Qur&#8217;an is a fully-explained book, but nobody seems to known what &#8220;Alif-L\u00e3m-Ra&#8221; means.
