Last week we read his words to the Magnesians where he exhorted them to do nothing without the bishop and to give honour to God by honouring the presbytery in authority over them. \u00a0This week we move on to the letter he wrote to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newadvent.org\/fathers\/0106.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Church in Tralles<\/a> in which Ignatius repeats much of what he told the Magnesians, but goes on to warn them of a heresy which was starting to creep into the Church, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Docetism\" target=\"_blank\">Docetism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After looking at several different translations, I have, again, created my own abridged version so that we will be able to complete our study of this letter in a single evening. \u00a0Here it is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/letter-of-st-ignatius-to-the-trallians.pdf\">\u201cSt. Ignatius of Antioch\u2019s letter to the Trallians\u201d PDF<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trycatch.net\/audio\/ignatius\/IgnatiusOfAntiochToTheTrallians.mp3\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cSt. Ignatius of Antioch\u2019s letter to the Trallians\u201d Audio<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week in the\u00a0JP2 Group we will be continuing our study of the letters of\u00a0St. Ignatius of Antioch, the third bishop of Antioch.
