I compared to the Feeding of the 4,000. I commented that Lucy&#8217;s name means &#8220;Light&#8221;. I explained to Matt that &#8220;Lucifer&#8221; means &#8220;Light-bearer&#8221;, just as &#8220;Thurifer&#8221; means &#8220;Incense-bearer&#8221;. I quoted <em>The Great Divorce<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It&#8217;s not out of bad mice or bad fleas you make demons, but out of bad archangels<\/p><cite>C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I said that Lewis would have known about two famous Lucys of history: Blessed Lucy of Narnia and St. Lucy, the Patron Saint of the Blind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Lucy and Aslan meet:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cAslan&#8221; said Lucy &#8220;you&#8217;re bigger&#8221;. <br><br>&#8220;That is because you are older, little one&#8221; answered he. <br><br>&#8220;Not because you are?&#8221; <br><br>&#8220;I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.\u201d<\/p><cite>Prince Caspian, Lucy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 We spoke about faith, which Lewis defines in <em>Mere Christianity<\/em> as holding on to what you have come to know to be true, despite the onslaught of emotions. We compared it to sky diving, flying on a plane and swimming with sharks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Aslan calls her to obedience. I mention that 2 Corinthians talks about walking by faith, not by sight. Her siblings have to have faith in Lucy because she&#8217;s the only one who can see&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cLucy buried her head in his mane to hide from his face. But there must have been magic in his mane. She could feel lion-strength going into her. Quite suddenly she sat up. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, Aslan,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m ready now.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cNow you are a lioness,\u201d said Aslan. \u201cAnd now all Narnia will be renewed\u201d<\/p><cite>C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I compared this to Lewis&#8217; comments in <em>Mere Christianity <\/em>about getting close to the source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Matt compared Lucy&#8217;s friction with her family to Jesus&#8217; call in the Gospels. I quoted Hebrews about fixing our eyes upon Jesus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Bacchus was the Roman God of wine. Silenus was the sidekick of the Greek version of Bacccus, Dionysius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 We see how Miraz&#8217;s pride leads him to make a stupid decision. Matt told us how he tricked his brother into cleaning up his snowmobile. I compared it to an advert about washing up liquid I saw when I was a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 I compared the victory of the trees in the final battle to Birnam Wood in <em>Macbeth<\/em> and the Ents defeating Isengard in <em>The Lord of the Rings<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Caspian meets Aslan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWelcome, Prince,\u201d said Aslan. \u201cDo you feel yourself sufficient to take up the Kingship of Narnia?\u201d \u201cI &#8211; I don\u2019t think I do, Sir,\u201d said Caspian. \u201cI\u2019m only a kid.\u201d \u201cGood,\u201d said Aslan. \u201cIf you had felt yourself sufficient, it would have been a proof that you were not.\u201d<\/p><cite>C.S Lewis, Prince Caspian<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Caspian laments his ancestry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Caspian said] \u201cI was wishing that I came of a more honourable lineage.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cYou come of the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve,\u201d said Aslan. \u201cAnd that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the great emperor on earth. Be content.\u201d<\/p><cite>C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Reepicheep is healed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201c\u2026[the] tail is the honour and glory of a Mouse.\u201d <\/p><p>\u201cI have sometimes wondered, friend,\u201d said Aslan, \u201cwhether you do not think too much about your honour\u2026. Why have your followers all drawn their swords, may I ask?\u201d said Aslan. <\/p><p>\u201cMay it please your High Majesty,\u201d said the second Mouse, whose name was Peepiceek, \u201cwe are all waiting to cut off our own tails if our Chief must go without his. We will not bear the shame of wearing an honour which is denied to the High Mouse.\u201d <\/p><p>\u201cAh!\u201d roared Aslan. \u201cYou have conquered me. You have great hearts. Not for the sake of your dignity, Reepicheep, but for the love that is between you and your people\u2026\u201d<\/p><cite>C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I compared this with the healing of the paralytic.  Matt compared it to the healing of the Centurion&#8217;s servant and Jairus&#8217; daughter, as well as the intercession of Abraham. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 We find out the Telmarines were pirates.
