Probably the most important thing to consider when preparing for the Camino is your pack.\u00a0In assembling mine, I consulted the list of recommendations found in a\u00a0companion book<\/a>\u00a0I had bought, as well as some other lists I found online. Here is a categorized list of everything I carried on my back along the Camino:<\/p>\n

Walking Gear<\/strong>
\nBackpack (with rain sheet)
\nWaterproof jacket
\nWaterproof trouser\/pants covers
\nHat (for sun\/rain)
\nSunglasses
\nSuntan lotion (SPF 30+)
\nBuff Headwear<\/a> (great for keeping the sun off your neck)
\nTrainers\/sneakers for exploring\u00a0the town in the evenings (Optional)<\/em><\/p>\n

Clothes<\/strong>
\nLong sleeve (quick-dry) tops x2
\nT-shirt (quick-dry) x1
\nTrousers which convert to shorts x2
\nUnderwear x2
\nSocks x4
\nA pair of shorts to be used as\u00a0pyjamas<\/p>\n

Sleeping
\n<\/strong>Sleeping bag (liner)<\/a>
\nInflatable pillow<\/a><\/p>\n

Washbag<\/strong>
\nFlip-flops for the shower
\nToothpaste\/Toothbrush\/Floss
\nNail clipper
\nQuick-drying towel<\/p>\n

Laundry<\/strong>
\nConcentrated washing liquid<\/a>
\nScrubba<\/a> (Optional, but very convenient\u00a0and a great conversation starter)
\nPlastic Clothes Pegs<\/p>\n

Other<\/strong>
\nFirst Aid Kit (Compeed, scissors, band-aids\/plasters, tape)
\nPhone (and charger)
\nCamino Scallop Shell (Buy in St. Jean)
\nCamino Guide Book<\/a>\/Maps
\n$300 in Euros and an ATM card<\/p>\n
