The video was of\u00a0Debbie Wasserman Schultz, an American Politician, being interviewed about\u00a0her children&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Na-XdhV0V2E?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a transcript of the interview with my <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">comments<\/span> interspersed:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>Interviewer:<\/strong> In your opinion, were [your children]\u00a0human beings before they were born?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>This is a simple question. It deserves a simple &#8220;Yes&#8221; or &#8220;No&#8221; answer. Of course, the answer is obvious: yes! Of course, they were human beings before they were born, it&#8217;s a simple matter of biology. They were living\u00a0organisms with human DNA &#8211; they were therefore human.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>Schultz:<\/strong> You know, I believe that every woman has the right to make their own reproductive choices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>Notice how a simple question\u00a0was completely avoided. Instead of an answer, we were treated to a political slogan.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>Interviewer:<\/strong> But what did you believe about your children?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>The question is politely repeated&#8230;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>Schultz:<\/strong> That I had the right to make my own reproductive choices, which I was glad to have and which I was proud to have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>Again the question is avoided. However, her response dresses in very nice language her\u00a0rather\u00a0distressing viewpoint, that she had the right to kill her children if she had so desired.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>Interviewer:<\/strong> So were they human beings? Just yes or no.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em>Yet again, the question is politely repeated&#8230;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\"><strong>Schultz:<\/strong> They\u2019re human beings today, and I\u2019m glad I had the opportunity to make my own reproductive choices, as \u2014 a right that every woman has and should maintain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><i>So if they&#8217;re human beings\u00a0<strong>today<\/strong>, what on earth were they <strong>before<\/strong>? Ants? Elephants? Dolphins? What species transitions into humanity?\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><i>Aren&#8217;t we\u00a0pro-lifers\u00a0meant to be the ones who are unscientific? Sheesh&#8230;<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I look back over this interview and marvel. I understand why this politician responds in the way she does &#8211; her philosophy demands it&#8230;even if it makes her look rather silly.
