{"id":566,"date":"2012-11-17T07:00:40","date_gmt":"2012-11-17T14:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thisrestlesspilgrim.wordpress.com\/?p=566"},"modified":"2015-03-19T16:01:16","modified_gmt":"2015-03-19T23:01:16","slug":"sweet-sacrifice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/2012\/11\/17\/sweet-sacrifice\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweet Sacrifice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to just blog briefly about a passage of scripture which I&#8217;ve been thinking a lot about recently, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2%20Samuel%2024:18-24;&amp;version=51;\" target=\"_blank\">2 Samuel 24:18-24<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><em>That day Gad came to David and said to him, \u201cGo up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><em>So David went up to do what the Lord had commanded him. When Araunah saw the king and his men coming toward him, he came and bowed before the king with his face to the ground. \u201cWhy have you come, my lord the king?\u201d Araunah asked.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><em>David replied, \u201cI have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the Lord there, so that he will stop the plague.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><em>\u201cTake it, my lord the king, and use it as you wish,\u201d Araunah said to David. \u201cHere are oxen for the burnt offering, and you can use the threshing boards and ox yokes for wood to build a fire on the altar.
