However, today I&#8217;ve decided to take my life into my own hands and finally start to address a question that I&#8217;ve often\u00a0heard among my female friends: <span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>&#8220;Why doesn&#8217;t that nice Catholic boy ask me out?&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/someone-perpetually-flailing-own-friendship-ecard-someecards.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"237\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Now, the absence of a ring of my finger clearly demonstrates my distinct lack of &#8220;expert&#8221; status in this area. However, I don&#8217;t think this deprives me from offering at least some insight. In fact, in some ways, I would almost go so far as to say that it makes me <em>supremely<\/em> qualified in this area, much in the same way that the Captain of the Titanic would be well-qualified to teach a course entitled <span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>&#8220;Stuff not to do near icebergs&#8221;<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>So, in a service to Christian women everywhere, I would like to offer, over a series of posts, some of the possible reasons why that nice Catholic boy doesn&#8217;t ask you out and, hopefully, what&#8217;s to be done about it.<\/p>\n<p>I do feel, however, like I have to give something of a disclaimer first. The &#8220;reasons&#8221; that I&#8217;m going to give will come from a variety of sources. Some of these reasons will be ones which I myself have given in the past. Some of the reasons will be ones that I&#8217;ve\u00a0heard confessed by fellow Christian men over a late-night beer. Others will come from my observations of the various faith communities of which I have been a part. Many of these reasons will not necessarily be\u00a0<em><strong>good<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0reasons, but they will be\u00a0reasons nonetheless&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I hope that there&#8217;ll be a lot of feedback and discussion in the Comment Box.
