{"id":21755,"date":"2013-08-15T08:46:43","date_gmt":"2013-08-15T15:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/?p=21755"},"modified":"2015-03-19T16:41:22","modified_gmt":"2015-03-19T23:41:22","slug":"do-i-have-to-go-to-church-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/2013\/08\/15\/do-i-have-to-go-to-church-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Do I have to go to Church today?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Holy Day of\u00a0<em>Obligation?!\u00a0<\/em>That&#8217;s like saying someone forced you to eat ice-cream and sprinkles!<\/p>\n<p>There appears to be some confusion over the status of the Feast of the Assumption so I thought I&#8217;d do a really quick post and clear things up. <strong>If you&#8217;re a Roman Rite Catholic in the United States then, yes, today is a Holy Day of Obligation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Where has all the confusion come from? Well, the U.S. Bishops received permission from the Vatican to abrogate certain Holy Days if the feast in question is on either a Saturday or Monday.
