{"id":19202,"date":"2013-06-02T07:00:05","date_gmt":"2013-06-02T14:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/?p=19202"},"modified":"2015-03-19T16:26:58","modified_gmt":"2015-03-19T23:26:58","slug":"when-will-then-be-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/2013\/06\/02\/when-will-then-be-now\/","title":{"rendered":"When will then be now?!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"facebook\" src=\"http:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/EdHGSXmOMqE\/hqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>As I was finishing off St. Augustine&#8217;s <em>Confessions<\/em>, I read the section in Book Eleven where he devotes a substantial amount of ink to the subject of time:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>Who is there who can say to me that there are not three times&#8230; the past, present, and future, but only present, because these two are not?\u00a0<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>Or are they also; but when from future it becomes present, comes it forth from some secret place, and when from the present it becomes past, does it retire into anything secret?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>For where have they, who have foretold future things, seen these things, if as yet they are not? For that which is not cannot be seen. And they who relate things past could not relate them as true, did they not perceive them in their mind. Which things, if they were not, they could in no way be discerned.
