Lindsey was really good live, dancing around the stage like a crazy person. Her opening act,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thevibrantsound.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vibrant Sound<\/a>,\u00a0were also really enjoyable; any band which plays <span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>&#8220;Let&#8217;s get it on&#8221;<\/em><\/span> by\u00a0Marvin Gaye is <a href=\"http:\/\/thevibrantsound.bandcamp.com\/album\/free-music-mixtape\" target=\"_blank\">alright by me<\/a> \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"860\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TCL94-MsxYc?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>However, the thing that struck me last night was the number of people recording the show on their phones. It had been a while since I had been to a concert at the House of Blues and the increased use of electronic devices was quite\u00a0pronounced, a change that was also obvious\u00a0at the recent Papal elections:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-18575 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Conclave-2005-vs.-2013-with-iPhones.png\" alt=\"Conclave 2005 vs. 2013 with iPhones\" width=\"500\" height=\"510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Conclave-2005-vs.-2013-with-iPhones.png 393w, https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Conclave-2005-vs.-2013-with-iPhones-294x300.png 294w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There was one guy near me who spent nearly the entire evening watching the concert through his phone which he held up in the air above his head almost the entire time. Instead of just enjoying the music and the performance, he had to concentrate on his camera work. I\u00a0\u00a0know I&#8217;ve done something like this before myself. The first time I went to the Louvre I spend more time behind my camera than actually just enjoying the art. On vacations I&#8217;ve been preoccupied thinking about what would make a good picture rather than just enjoying the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Do we miss out on making memories when we&#8217;re busy making computer files? What do we lose when\u00a0we&#8217;re not truly present in the moment?
