\"\"<\/a>For the last few days (the last nine days, in fact!), I’ve been praying a Novena<\/a>.\u00a0This has meant that I’ve been praying the rosary every day. As you may know, the Catholic Church has assigned to each day of the week a different set of “mysteries”:<\/p>\n

Monday:<\/strong> Joyful Mysteries
\nTuesday:<\/strong> Sorrowful Mysteries
\nWednesday:<\/strong> Glorious Mysteries
\nThursday:<\/strong> Luminous Mysteries
\nFriday:<\/strong> Sorrowful Mysteries
\nSaturday:<\/strong> Joyful Mysteries
\nSunday:<\/strong> Glorious Mysteries<\/p>\n

These mysteries are the events in the life of Jesus and His mother, such as the Resurrection and\u00a0when Jesus turned water into wine. Catholics are invited to meditate upon these mysteries as they pray the rosary. Previously, whenever I went to pray a rosary, I always had to do a google search to check which mysteries were assigned to that day.\u00a0However, after nine days of praying the rosary, I’ve come up with a little\u00a0mnemonic to work it out:<\/p>\n

J<\/strong>esus S<\/strong>aves, G<\/strong>od\u00a0L<\/strong>oves S<\/strong>inners, J<\/strong>ehovah\u00a0G<\/strong>od<\/p>\n

Starting with Monday, the first letter of each of the words indicates which set of mysteries are to be prayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
