Apostles<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. James, the son of Zebedee. Martyred AD 44 (see\u00a0Acts 12:2<\/a>) Family<\/strong><\/p>\n 3. James of Jerusalem (“James the Just”). This one is favoured. He was Jesus’ kinsman (see\u00a0Mark 6:3<\/a>). Resurrection Witness (see 1 Cor 15:7). “Pillar of the Church”<\/span><\/em> (see\u00a0Gal 2:9<\/a>).\u00a0Tradition tells us that he was Bishop of Jerusalem and Martyred in AD 62 (Stoned, clubbed or thrown off the Temple) Here is a rough timeline:<\/p>\n ~30 AD: Jesus’ Ministry The letter is addressed to\u00a0“the twelve tribes scattered among the nations”<\/em><\/span>. There are three possible\u00a0interpretations\u00a0for this:<\/p>\n 1. Exiled Hebrew Christians (The used in the text is diaspora<\/a>) I prefer (3) as it\u00a0encompasses (1) and (2) and makes it addressed to us too \ud83d\ude42 Either way, this letter is grouped in the Bible with the Catholic (universal) epistles.<\/p>\n The document includes several different literary forms:<\/p>\n * Letter (The opening) The central themes of James include:<\/p>\n 1.
